Cardano Warriors - How we Started
Welcome Warriors, this document outlines our vision on how we're planning the development of this project. We'll begin with a brief introduction on how the project originated and how it has evolved over these past 2 years.
In April 2021, we launched the first collection of NFTs in a completely automated manner. We managed to raise funds to kickstart the game development with the promise that, besides being a collection, the NFTs could be carried and used within the future game that would be developed.
As the project's scope began to undergo constant transformation and maturation, initially designed to be a simple mobile game inspired by Axie Infinity, it evolved into a single-player RPG and later, in agreement with the community, we decided to take on the challenge of developing an MMORPG that expanded into the concept of a metaverse but in 2D.
In recent months, the team had to analyze the best ways to develop a game that could offer financial incentives sustainably. In doing so, we concluded that we couldn't follow the traditional model of including a token in the gameplay mechanics. Other decisions regarding the product, such as positioning it as free to play, onboarding via Web2, and providing educational content about Web3, became clear. We were seeking to develop not just a game but something that could showcase the potential of diverse communities.
At this point, Cardano Warriors relinquished the opportunity to raise funds in a bull market because we lacked a platform that justified a monetary demand benefiting the token. Ultimately, we'd end up with a community merely monitoring the price of a token melting in a bear market. Although we believe in the possibility of a future token with a different purpose.
Through the sale of NFTs, we were able to progress the project and assemble the development, marketing, and community teams. As the project's scale changed, we had to readjust our roadmap to allow for product expansion while simultaneously facing the bear market that was already presenting itself.
After a few months, we managed to develop a basic infrastructure and some game components crucial for sustaining the project and part of its funding. Our first islands were released, developed on our interactive map, with a round and point system. The community had to organize itself to find the zones that interested them the most.
The distribution of the islands was a significant achievement for the platform and its users. With the creation of the CWP points system, we gave our community the opportunity to receive a substantial share of the initial plots available. Over 1 million ADAs worth of land ended up in the hands of the community, surpassing the ADA collection combined from the original collection and the rest of the direct land sales.
Following the previous phase, today we're developing the second stage, which includes optimizing our minting engine and the secondary market for islands, introducing the dynamics of Seasons.
Buyers of a specific season will receive a Mystery Box containing modifications they can apply to their island NFT, allowing their island to evolve and become unique.
This was a brief introduction, but we continue forward for a better understanding of how we intend to develop this product, which is, in fact, a game on a hybrid platform.
